What is LPG? Where is it used?
LPG consists of propane and butane hydrocarbons, derived from natural gas or oil refining. It is a reliable, economical, and environmentally friendly fuel with applications in industry, small-scale manufacturing, agriculture, vehicles, and domestic use.
What are the requirements for installing an LPG tank?
A free space of at least 3 meters around the tank is required (the required space is approximately 8m x 7m), away from ignition sources, in well-ventilated areas. For installation, safe access and parking for a tanker truck within a distance of up to 25 meters are required.

What do I need for LPG installation in my home?

New Legislation for LPG Tanks
We inform you that as of January 12, 2021, new legislation (Government Gazette Issue 40/12-1-2021) is in effect, which sets terms and procedures for the purchase and receipt of LPG for commercial, industrial, and craft use.
Specifically, for businesses that receive and use bulk LPG in tanks, there is a requirement to submit a series of documents to the local Customs Offices (Article 5 of the Decision), with the most important being:
- Submission of a declaration as described in Article 5.1.
- Certification from a competent engineer regarding the tank capacity, measuring instruments, and its volumetric table.
- Certification from a competent engineer regarding the hourly consumption of the boiler, stationary engines, or vehicles/equipment (depending on what the business has).
- A list of the company’s commercial vehicles, including the fuel they use.
- Keeping an electronic warehouse log of LPG receipts (alternatively, the company’s accounting records according to the Greek Accounting Standards).
